The output of open-pit coal mines exceeded 1 billion tons last year

Date:2023-05-26   Visits:1809

Ordos, August 10th (Reporter Ding Yiting) It was learned from the national open-pit coal mine green and low-carbon development on-site meeting held on the 9th that as of the end of last year, there were 357 open-pit coal mines in China with a production capacity of 1.162 billion tons and an average production capacity of 3.25 million tons per year, which is about three times that of underground coal mines. There are over 30 open-pit coal mines with a capacity of tens of millions of tons. From a regional distribution perspective, the number and production capacity of open-pit coal mines in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang account for about 75% and 85% of the national total, respectively.

It is reported that in 2022, the output of open-pit coal mines in China exceeded 1 billion tons for the first time, reaching 1.057 billion tons, accounting for about 8% of the total coal production and contributing about 23% of the country's coal production, an increase of 19 percentage points compared to 2000.

While the supply capacity continues to increase, the intelligent mining of open-pit coal mines is accelerating. The intelligent application scenarios represented by intelligent comprehensive control platforms, slope monitoring, 3D geological model construction, unmanned driving, intelligent blasting, etc. are constantly enriching.

Significant achievements have been made in clean and efficient utilization, as well as energy conservation and consumption reduction. A group of open-pit coal mines have broken away from the traditional path of "digging and selling coal" and refined "black gold" into "green gold". At the National Energy Zhuneng Group, coal is processed into a new type of special fuel through nanoscale processing, which has the characteristics of low fuel solid content, low ignition temperature, and high fuel calorific value. This not only reduces coal consumption for thermal power generation, but also expands the application space of coal resources.
